Back in July 2007, inspired by Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman's latest ride to Cape Town in aid of UNICEF, we decided it would be 'nice' to do a charity motorcycle ride of our own. We decided that, to do this properly and raise as much money as possible for our chosen charities, the ride had to fulfil certain criteria - it has to be relavant to our chosen charities, interesting and challenging. It was from this criteria that Norway Round was born.
We begin the Norway Round trip on Wednesday 11 June 2008 from Sheffield, South Yorkshire and head through England, France, Belguim, Holland, Germany, Czech Republic, Denmark and, finally, Norway. On the way we'll be stopping off in Stuttgart to collect a trident which will adorn the front of Bear2, the Sheffield Children’s Hospital mobile intensive care unit. We'll then carry on to Prague in the Czech Republic where we'll meet up with Weston Park Hospital's Professor Hancock who is speaking at the Association of Clinical Pathologists' 2008 International Scientific Meeting.
Our initial aim is to raise a minimum of £3,000 each for both the Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity and the Weston Park Hospital Cancer Appeal but with hard work on our part and generosity on your part we hope to far exceed this.
